Users review: Excellent continuation of Star Wars, this is easily the darkest and most serious of all the Star Wars films, at least until Revenge of the Sith came out. The film benefits from the introduction of Yoda, the Jedi master, but the wise little help Luka preparing for a showdown with Darth Vader. It also introduces Lando Calrissian, an old Hans gambling and smuggling friends played a very good Billy Dee Williams. The Empire is more character-driven than the original and more reliant on the comic to help lighten the mood, but do not overdo it with humor. The story is more subtle and better acted too. Despite all this, I can not say I enjoyed it more than the original empire. The original Star Wars has a certain charm to it that no one has been arrested sequel (or prequel). Id say it is at least equal to the original though and fit the track in what is probably the greatest series of films in film history.
