| Users review: Recently, I tend to think that the first couple of thousand of votes and reviewers are paid by the studios on IMDb.com and the flick will receive its real score about half a year later.I browsed through dozens of 7 to 10 reviews and I couldnt believe my eyes. Have you seen the same movie I watched yesterday? I loved 300 but this one is a million miles from it. I really dont want to write about the performance of Eva Green and Sullivan Stapleton because they perfectly matched the movie itself: the storyline, the bloody scenes, the dialogs, everything. Forgettable, CGI-packed action with predictable rhythm of calm and intense scenes from beginning to end. As far as I remember, the Persians never destroyed Athens and the rebirth of Xerxes was also a joke, not to mention the union of Artemisia and Themistokles. 300 was almost a perfect movie but it has nothing to do with its glorious predecessor. |

| Users review: As a member of team who previewed the movie, I have seen this 6 times and customarily, I HATE to see movies over and over but this is a GREAT movie. I am also not a huge football fan. This movie has a great message about family, character and why one should do anything they enjoy...win is great but its more than that. This says a great deal about the character of the coach, his staff, his family and HIS players. I will have to read the book now. There is everything from elation to heartbreak; you will find yourself dancing and you may shed a tear. I enjoyed NOT having to cringe through nudity, bullets, and f-bombs.I recommend EVERYONE go see this. Its a great family film and it has something for everyone. |

| Users review: A highly trained, retired field operative resorts to violence as the only way to free a Russian prostitute from brutal Russian men who are part of an international crime organization. The many years of retirement didnt show any sign of rust on Robert McCall (Washington) as he ran through his adversaries, dismantling one after another, without batting an eye. He made it look too easy. These bad Russian men had nothing for him, which is probably the biggest problem with this film. There is nothing interesting about a Good vs Evil film with weak bad guys. The filmmakers did work hard at trying to make Teddy, played by Marton Csokas, look ruthless and deadly. But I was never convinced, and I doubt whether the many who saw this film with me at the Toronto International Film Festival were convinced as well.I found the film rather boring for the most part, with a setup unusually longer than anything Hollywood released in decades. The dialogue was heavy handed. The supporting roles didnt provide nothing more than their vulnerability to the scum of society, which beckoned on a hero like McCall to teach them a lesson or two.And as I stated in my summary, you have already seen this film a thousand times already: the bad guys shooting big, scary guns and rarely grazing the hero, the hero walking away in slow motion from an explosion he caused, bad guys tracking hero down in this sort of cat-and-mouse thing, damsels in distress, high octane martial arts. Wait, the filmmakers did try to make the film unique by excluding a car chase and having McCall kill each and every bad guy in the most unique way every time. A bullet to the cranium wasnt good enough. No. He had to use methods like overflowing bathroom sinks to electrocute someone. He seemed like he was trying to one-up himself every time. The hero doesnt make any mistakes in the process, even taking the time to catch a fly ball to win the company baseball game. The way he swooped in, in slow motion, and snatched that ball from the joker character who thought he had it was roll-your-eyes worthy and completely laughable.However, when the film got going it started to be exactly what I expected; an entertaining, highly stylized, popcorn film. At the same time, being Fuquas weakest directorial effort since his first film, I cannot recommend it. 5/10 |

| Users review: This review comes from someone who likes Famnily Guy and really enjoyed TED... but this new one... was... ouch... I went in expecting a few laughs but there were fewer than even my low expectations predicted. Other than the script everything is top notch. Actors are great. Charlize and Liam and Sarah Silverman etc are terrific. Its too bad they didnt have something better to work with. Liam in fact seems like hes in a different movie. Hes 100 percent serious. That might be Seths point in making a guy (himself) who is caught in the middle of a serious horrible deadly world that the west really was.It looks very good visually. Great score. But very inconsistent. Not hit and miss. More like hit and miss miss miss groan miss semi-hit miss. And the joke style kept changing. Silly to sweet to over the top and serious at times. and some of the jokes were so disgusting I dont know what they were thinking. (and i like disgusting) Plus the anachronistic style gets tired fast. And Seth as predicted should not have made himself the lead. Hes not awful but would have benefited greatly with a pro. His persona is not fit for leading man status. And his voice and style is so in step with Brians on family guy its a bit distracting. Basically the tone of this film keeps changing. The joke styles keep changing. it doesnt know what it is. Is is a sweet western romcom? Is it a satire? Is it a serious comedy? With all the success from Ted Im guessing Seth had carte blanche with this one and probably needed someone to question him more. Might be more fun if your stoned. Really really stoned. And/or maybe just see Blazing Saddles instead. |

| Users review: When one of these films come out, and i categorise it because they are quite simply all the same at the core, i find myself hoping for something new, something shocking, inventive, anything to completely separate it from any other demonic/paranormal film out there. From the trailer this didnt give much away, which was a pleasant surprise. The story was there, yes, but it didnt feel the need to show any of its frightening tricks; rightfully leaving them up the sleeve where they belong. And i was left slightly intrigued by its mystique.It was a good film, i enjoyed it, in ways it had its own unique vibe, but it is not enough to distance itself from the rest. The typical jump moments, where silence is replaced with a sharp, loud noise. The story is re hashed. Cults and Entities. The one thing it tries to do different is instead of just admitting that there is something wrong, the professor is adamant that the going ons are because of the patients mind. Things are flying about and going on fire because the patients mind did it..... Jared Harris (Professor Coupland) and Olivia Cooke (Jane Harper) are the two who standout the most. The rest are fodder; displaying very poor acting and their characters where very tacky. The film does have its moments (T-Rex soundtrack) and it does have an unusual mellowness surrounding it, but unfortunately, it is just another routine horror. |

| Users review: My opinion might be a little biased cause Im a huge fan of the Dystopian and Ethiopian genre. But this movie definitely exceeded my expectations. It definitely trumps divergent by far, might even be on par with the hunger games. This movie was non stop action, and mystery. It definitely succeeded in keeping me on edge wondering what was going to happen next. If youre contemplating whether or not you should watch it, do yourself a favour and watch it, believe me you will not regret it! I cannot wait until the sequel comes out! Great stuff! Well thats about it for what I have to say, youve gotta watch the movie to really understand the good things about it. The movie Is good. |

| Users review: I got to see this movie last Friday night with some friends. I was not to site what to expect and weather it was a movie we would enjoy - but we all decided this was the one to see. The Movie had some good songs and the story kept our attention. I had to leave at one point to use the restroom and missed a key part of the movie. I had to ask my friends to fill me in on what I missed. The Identical was seeing his birth mother for the first time in the hospital and did not know she was his birth mother. I missed that part and he sang a song to her. Me and my friends really enjoyed the Movie a lot. I know several friends that are adopted and this Movie really moved me for them. The Movie had great beginning and an even better ending. It had a lot of twists and turns I was not expecting and the outcome was very touching. I would really like to see this movie again so that I could see it all without my friends talking (ha ha ha ) and so I could see more of the meanings behind the story. My friends and I have told others to go see it too because they did not really l ow if they would like it. Anyway ..... Great movie and story.... Loved the actors in this one also! |

| Users review: Although Cronenberg does not transcend himself in his film as he could do brilliantly in A History Of Violence or Cosmopolis more recently, this film remains unique to the genre to which he devoted himself, that is to say, a cinema of the extremes and of the unconscious impulses.Maps To The Stars is shaping a bit more Cronenbergs atmosphere, as a kind of metamorphosis of human nature, found in her most recognized disfigurement : the Hollywood sphere, a private sphere, where blends a thousand contradictions. This film is faithful to the cinema of David Cronenberg in his ironic and pessimistic format, even though it is not digging out a new point of view over the transformation of human nature, which nevertheless resonates in each of his films. Thats what a true Cronenberg film is : a repressed drive. |

| Users review: I have waited a long time for this film and it did not disappoint!The film is very entertaining with stunning visuals and impressive action scenes. This is definitely Angelinas film and she is incredible as Maleficent.Supporting cast are also impressive and Elle was perfect casting for Aurora. The 3d was also good and really did enhance many scenes. The score by James Newton Howard really blew me away and adds magic to the film.My screening was all made up of adults which surprised me. The trailers for the film really give the film a dark tone, however the actual film has many light Disney moments. I highly recommend this film and the 3d is worth paying a bit extra! |
